About Us – Colyford Butchers
Butchery is all that Master Butcher Tony has ever known. Starting out as an apprentice, more years ago than he cares to remember, Tony learnt his trade from some of the best in the Westcountry. It’s the long hours that have been the ultimate masterclass, honing his butchery skills and broadening his knowledge across all aspects of meat.
Tony has been at Colyford Butchers since 1997, initially working for Roy alongside Pete. Together they ensured that the shop’s reputation for quality meats, prepared with craft and care and sold at sensible prices, continued to grow.
Since Roy retired in 2007, Tony has been at the helm, initially in partnership with the much missed Pete, and since 2016 with his wife, Mel.
Tony’s passion for the art of butchery continues to grow. His commitment to sourcing local, high grade produce is born out of a desire for good food and that you’ll enjoy it as much as he does. And that ethos is shared by his small but skilled team.
Their passion and combined experience stretches over decades, ensuring great meats and expert advice on cooking and preparation every time you come to us.
We continue to be proud of what we offer. We learn all the time, and are constantly looking to improve. But whilst new trends for food come and go, you can be sure that you’ll always receive the very best of traditional service and artisan products.
